Are you a reliable Machine Operator looking for a long-term career move? Join a market leader in the rail industry at their Wetherill Park production hub. We are seeking a dedicated operator to manufacture high-volume locomotive braking components in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The Role

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end production of rubber-moulded locomotive brakes. This hands-on role requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-heat machinery.

Key Duties:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor rubber mould ovens to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Handle raw materials and oversee the curing process of high-performance rail brakes.
  • Safely move stock, raw materials, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Inspect finished components for defects and ensure they meet strict engineering specifications.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on moulding equipment.
  • Adhere to strict WHS protocols and participate in daily toolbox talks to maintain a "Safety First" culture.

Roster & Pay Rates

This role operates on a weekly rotating roster (Must be able to work both):

  • Week A (Mornings): Monday – Friday + Saturday morning. Rate: $36.65 p/h
  • Week B (Afternoons): Monday – Friday. Rate: $42.15 p/h
  • Overtime rates, Shift Allowances, & a specific Mould Allowance included in the package.

What You’ll Bring

  • Valid Australian Forklift License (LF) is essential.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment (experience with ovens or moulding is a plus).
  • Must have a reliable car & licence, as the site has limited access via public transport.
  • A desire for long-term work with a view to moving into a permanent role.
  • Must have full Australian Working Rights & live in Australia.
  • Must be able to pass a medical, including drug & alcohol screening, & a police check.
